If you every thought about using Asterisks in house or about adding Asterisk to your VAR product line up, then this class will provide great insite in the setup and configuration of the Elastix software appliance. Elastix is more than just an Asterisk GUI, Elastix integrates the best tools available for Asterisk-based PBXs into a single, easy-to-use interface. Best of all the Elastix team offers support. No matter if you are an end user or a VAR the Elastix team can offer timely, expect support for Elastix installations.
 
The Elastix Training course is designed to be very personalized, only 10 students in the class and 95% hands on. Every student will have their own Elastix Server, and a separate Windows Work station to perform all of the class exercises. OSS believes the best way to learn is by doing, no sitting in a crowed room listening to some boring speaking trying to retain the knowledge. An exercise will be discussed and then the student will enable/disable the feature. In the class room setting with every student with their own Elastix server, live SIP trunks with the students NPA-NXX numbers, a student will be able to start to receive calls and send calls to their own NPP-NXX region in one hour from the start of the first day of class.
 
Many advanced features that usually cannot be taught in a class will be presented. Virtual Faxing and Asterisk to Asterisk trunking will be implemented in detail. With 12 live Elastix servers in the class room many different scenarios will be implemented. The last 4 hours of class will be spent on how to set up a telecommuting environment for remote users, that not only covers voice, but how to enable peer communication to the remote desktop.

  • P4, 2.8 gHz, 1 gig ram, 40 gig HD, 15 inch LCD display **
  • (2) Grandstream 1200 SIP phones
  • (1) OpenVox A400 with (2) FXO modules

** Please note the server is used. This will be the minimum provided server hardware. The server is coming off a corporate lease. The server will be a brand name of either Dell, IBM, Compaq, HP, the warranty is 30 days.

  • Planning an Elastix deployment
  • Problem solving an installation
